Artists everywhere are creating beautiful art. Then they are becoming frustrated with the process of marketing the art. We have choices now that are new, and ever-changing. An example of new ways to market the art is a website that is integrated with marketing sites, or a website that is part of an online marketplace, such as Shopify. There still are galleries and art shows too.

I am an artist in my mid-sixties. The art marketing world has changed a lot since I first started to sell my paintings. I create paintings in oils and acrylics of horses, and animals and I do some landscapes. I would describe my art as nothing unusual, and it's appealing to a lot of art buyers. The trouble is getting my images out to those prospective buyers. They can't buy what they've never seen.

How do we know what the best strategy is for making a living as an artist? A resource that I have been relying on is asking other successful artists what is working for them. I look on Pinterest and Shopify, and other sites for art similar to mine, and I look up those artists. I can see who is their webhost, or the gallery that represented them online. Some artists have videos on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Videos are another valuable technique for getting your name out there. Instructional videos are another way to create name recognition (branding). I often check and see which galleries do frequent social media posts for their respective artists.

There are few things that I like less than doing website construction, editing photos online, or creating video content for my online endeavors. It's something that has become a large part of my marketing. The upside is that you can create a digital profile and create followers with more ease.

Anyway, welcome to my new website. Thanks for letting me vent. Have a beautiful, art-filled day.
